We Are Official!

Hello everyone!

We received some exciting news a few days ago. The IRS has approved our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. This is really exciting for us because we will be able to fundraise and our donors will be able to take it as a tax deduction.

We will be adding donation buttons on our website to make it easier to give. We are currently fundraising for two items – the restoration of the Charles Pettitt painting and a trailer to create a mobile art museum.

We need to raise $2,500 to pay off the remaining restoration balance for the Charles Pettitt painting “Sunrise”. We are sending out letters to local businesses to help us raise the remaining balance. We are also creating a line of merchandise to sell to help pay off the balance.

The second thing we are looking at purchasing is either a cargo or travel trailer that will be used to travel around the Shasta County community to educate students and community members on art and different cultures. Either option will have to be wired for electricity and climate control, as well as have displays installed. We have priced it out both ways, and are looking to raise $10,000 for this project.

Finally, we have identified a building we could purchase and renovate to be our permanent location. The building is $100,000 and we have estimated $200,000 for the renovation to turn it into a museum. In addition to fundraising, we will be applying for grants to get this project started and completed within the next five years.

Thank you for your support as we start our journey!
