Funding, Fundraising, and Programming

We have been busy these past few weeks filling out applications and updating our social media accounts to accept donations. It can be a tedious process, but ticking these items off a list puts a one step closer to raising the$2,500 needed to pay the restoration of the Charles Pettitt painting in full.

Our Executive Director, Maghan, has also been a busy bee over the past few weeks. She has identified a few local grants and several federal grants we can apply for to help us secure a trailer and possibly rent a space in the interim to hold classes and small programming. She has also written a letter asking local businesses to help sponsor the restoration of “Sunrise” by Pettitt. We have a couple of Cox paintings that will also need minor restoration work in the future, but right now the main focus is the Pettitt painting.

We are sitting down to flesh out our programming schedule for 2022. We are coming up with a couple of different options depending on whether we get the grant funding we are applying for. We are also planning a few different fundraiser later in 2021, and then hitting the ground running in 2022. We are also looking at adding some classes. These would be writing classes and possibly art classes. We are not certain if they would be weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-weekly, and so on, as of yet. Once we have a better idea of schedules, we will start planning classes and announcing them here and on social media.

Check back often as we will be posting updates on a regular basis regarding the museum.
