About

A new way to see the world.

Midnight Waters Incorporated was founded with the goal of bring world class art and cultural exhibits to underserved communities in Northern California. Currently, our board is working towards procuring a travel trailer to become a mobile museum; a smaller travel trailer to become a studio, retail store, and information center to be used at events; a vehicle to both trailers; artifacts for art and cultural programming; and an office space to rent and house everything when not traveling.

The chief motivators behind this project were the struggles of the autism community, lack of knowledge about the history of Native Americans, and lack of art within the community. Executive Director Maghan Hunt has personal experience with autism, and is very aware of the lack of resources available to this community in Northern California. In addition, she and her sister, Kaitlynn Hunt, are both Native American. Maghan is a member of the Little Shell Tribe of Montana, while Kaitlynn is a member of the Wintu Tribe of Northern California. Both have been blessed to have been exposed to art and to have seen historical art pieces, the impact of those pieces on society, and how the definition of art is a very fluid concept.

The goal of Midnight Waters Incorporated is to house a series of resident artists amongst the historical art pieces, and create an environment that inspires others to strive for a better future by finding their voice. Midnight Waters hopes to accomplish this with art classes, social events, gallery and museum programing, films, and podcasts. Though we are in our infancy, we hope you will join us on our journey. Out of acorns grow mighty oak trees.
